A Baton Rouge native, Dr. Schexnayder graduated from LSU in 1993 and earned her Ph.D. in Neuroscience from Baylor College of Medicine in 2000. Afterwards she earned her M.D. from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston in 2001. She performed her medical residencies in Pediatric and Adult Neurology and a fellowship in Child Neurology, completing them in 2006.
Dr. Schexnayder, licensed to practice in the state of Louisiana, is certified in Child Neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry & Neurology and is a member of the Physician Advisory Board of the Epilepsy Foundation. She is also a member of the Child Neurology Society and the American Academy of Neurology. In addition to her medical practice, Dr. Schexnayder serves as a clinical assistant professor for Tulane Medical School.
Dr. Schexnayder is married with two children and makes her home in Baton Rouge.
