Dr. Wesley R. Porta attended Southeastern Louisiana University, where he graduated with a B.S. in Biology. He attended the LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans where he earned his M.D. in the spring of 2010. After moving north to attend the LSU School of Medicine in Shreveport, he performed a one-year Internship in General Surgery and a four-year Residency in Urology, completing his Residency in the spring of 2015. In his final year, he served as Chief Resident.
Dr. Porta is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, as well as a member of the American Urological Association, the Southeastern Section of the American Urological Association, and the Louisiana State Urological Association. He is board-certified with the American Board of Urology. He is licensed to practice in the state of Louisiana.
A native of Baton Rouge, Dr. Porta returned home with his wife Leigh and two children to join the Urology department at The Baton Rouge Clinic in the summer of 2015. In his free time, he enjoys golfing and hunting, and he is also an avid bass fisherman.
