George J. Schwartzenburg, MD, FAAP

Pediatrics at Industriplex

I appreciate the opportunity to introduce myself. Originally from Southwest Louisiana, I graduated from St. Louis High School and McNeese State University with a Bachelor of Science degree. I earned my M.D. from LSU School of Medicine in Shreveport, Louisiana and completed my internship and residency training in Pediatrics at Tulane Medical Center in New Orleans. In the summer of 1999, my growing family made Baton Rouge our home upon joining The Pediatric Clinic. I am board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and am a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. During my career, I have served as vice-president and president of the East Baton Rouge Parish Pediatric Society, as Chief of Pediatrics at Woman’s Hospital and I am a current member of the Woman’s Hospital Foundation.

Commonly referred to as “Dr. George,” my mission is to foster and manage the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of my patients in every stage of development, in good health, or in illness. I approach the care of my patients not only with my professional experience in pediatrics but also with my experiences as a father of four children. I enjoy the chance to partner with parents and families in our common goal of keeping kids healthy and happy. Getting a smile out of my patients, even when they don’t feel well, is a welcome and fulfilling challenge.

My wife and I have four children. I enjoy being active in my church, my children’s schools, and in the Baton Rouge community through my involvement with several ministries, clubs and sporting events. Backyard grilling with family and friends, traveling, and conquering “DIY” projects are some of my preferred leisure activities. Most of all, I am humbled and honored by the privilege to care for each of my patients.
